Why Publish with Renegade Publishers?

Our president, Josh Peck, has been working in the Christian publishing business for several years and has seen it all: the good, the bad, and the ugly. Unfortunately, the publishing world is quite brutal and Christian publishing is not immune to that. However, where other publishers lack, Renegade Publishers thrive. For example, an industry-standard publishing deal is usually around 12% (8-10% on the low end, 12-16% on the high end, though 16% is rare), meaning you only keep roughly a tenth of what your book earns and the publishing company keeps the rest. Due to certain circumstances that are unique to Renegade Publishers (low overhead, extensive expertise, behind-the-scenes real-world industry experience, etc.) Renegade Publishers can offer royalty deals far more favorable to the author than any other. Of course, because we are so unique and can potentially open a world of possibilities for our authors, we must be very selective in who we decide to work with. Below you will find an explanation of who we are looking for and a list of guidelines.

Submission Guidelines (Please Read Everything Before Submitting)

Please do not send full manuscripts. If you would like to be considered for publication, please send a book proposal (guidelines below). We are only accepting nonfiction works as of now. Absolutely no AI writing (both in the book proposal and full manuscript) will be considered. If it is discovered AI was used to write your manuscript after publication, it will be grounds to terminate the contract or any other deal that was previously made.

We are mainly (but not necessarily exclusively) looking for books on prophecy and other, lesser-known areas of Bible study. We only have the means to promote books within a certain framework, so if your manuscript deals with any of these topics, it must fall within these guidelines for us to consider it:

  • Affirm the Gospel from a Protestant perspective (no works salvation, word of faith, or hyper-charismatic works will be considered)
  • Affirm a Literal Interpretation of Scripture
  • Affirm a Premillennial view of Prophecy
  • Affirm the Pre-Trib Rapture Interpretation
  • Absolutely no works affirming Flat Earth, Geocentricism, etc.
  • No works that are Anti-Israel or Anti-Jew (fair criticism may be considered, but antisemitism will not)
  • When in doubt, feel free to ask by using the email address below (put ‘Question’ in the subject line).

This is by no means an exhaustive list, but it should help explain what kind of works Renegade Publishers is interested in publishing. If your work meets those guidelines, feel free to send us a book proposal (put ‘Submission’ in the subject line). Here is what we are looking for in a proposal:

Title and Overview:

  • Title & Subtitle suggestions: 3-5 title and subtitle options. Titles should be evocative and clickable with a keyword-rich subtitles (titles and subtitles may be subject to change based but not without the author’s knowledge and permission)
  • Overview: A ‘hook’ that acts as your elevator pitch. It should explain what the book is, why it is unique, why it matters now, and why you are the one to write it.
  • Book Details: Proposed word count, estimated delivery date, and details on any special features (e.g., photos, charts, etc).

About the Author and Platforms:

  • Bio and Testimony: How you came to know Christ, what denomination you fall into, if you attend church regularly (why or why not), and any other relevant details of your spiritual walk and physical life. Also, a professional summary highlighting your expertise and credibility in this subject.
  • Platform: Concrete stats (social media, mailing lists, podcast listeners) and evidence of your influence (speaking gigs, media appearances). If you don’t have any, that’s not necessarily a deal-breaker, just let us know.
  • Marketing Strategy: A realistic plan of how you will help sell the book, including your connections to potential reviewers, blurbers, or media personalities.
  • Contact information including all social media accounts.

Market and Audience

  • Target Audience: A detailed portrait of who will buy your book, moving beyond ‘everyone’ to a specific, identifiable niche.
  • Comparable Titles: A list of 3–10 successful, recently published (within the last 3–5 years) books that are similar to yours. Crucially, you must explain how your book is different and fills a gap left by these titles.

Content Outline:

  • Table of Contents: A list of chapters.
  • Annotated Chapter Outline: A short, yet informative and engaging summary of every chapter, detailing what the book covers from start to finish.
  • Writing Sample: 1–3 chapters (usually the introduction and Chapter 1) that showcase your best writing, voice, and expertise.

Key Things to Keep in Mind to Stand Out

  • If you are doing this solely to get rich and famous, we are not the publisher for you. We cannot promise any level of success. We are looking for servants who wish to glorify God, edify the saints, and make disciples of all nations. If you are in this only to make a name for yourself, we will not be able to help you.
  • We prioritize genuine people who are team players. We do not want to work with individuals who are prone to what some might call ‘drama’ (hostile attitude, self-aggrandizing, exaggerative, narcissistic tendencies, or any other unfavorable personality traits that would not serve the public well.
  • Focus on the Reader: Do not just list your ideas; explain how the book addresses a problem for the reader or fills a Christian community need.
  • Be Specific: Use concrete numbers for audience, platform, and marketing plans, rather than broad, generic statements.
  • Most important of all, pray sincerely, seek God, and wait for His approval before submitting. Renegade Publishers is unique in that we don’t only publish your book, but also create a path to operate in ministry. Real eternal lives are on the line and this calling should not be taken lightly.

If all of this resonates with you and you have something you feel can help our readers, please send your book proposal submissions to:
